Who Will Be Running Your Company in the Future?

Mason City, IA - January 11, 2011 - Sooner or later, everyone wants to retire.  But, if you own a business, retirement isn’t just a matter of deciding not to go into the office any more.  The key question you need to answer is:  What will happen to your business when you are no longer running it?  NIACC’s Entrepreneurs’ Exchange, Who Will Be Running Your Company In the Future?, will help you find the answer to that question.  This FREE event will be Tuesday, January 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Room 104G, McAllister Hall, on the NIACC campus.

Succession planning is the process that will help you create a plan for a smooth transition between you and the future owners of your business. Did you know that more than 70% of family-owned businesses do not survive the transition from founder to second generation?  Devising an exit strategy will help your business beat the odds and thrive.

Mark Olchefske, Director Incubation & Accelerator Services, and Ted Bair, Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Director, will present information you can use to develop a timeline for a successful business transition.  They will show you how to do an asset preparation, how to prepare the necessary financial statements, how to navigate the issues of business valuations, what type of marketing plan will work best for you, and whether you should enlist professional assistance.

Attend the FREE Entrepreneurs’ Exchange, Who Will Be Running Your Company in the Future?, on January 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Room 104G, McAllister Hall, on the NIACC campus.  Businesses of all sizes are welcomed and encouraged to attend this event.

To ensure adequate space and refreshments for this event, RSVPs for the Entrepreneurs’ Exchange are appreciated.  For vendors who market goods or services, a limited number of FREE display tables are available.  Please email or call Linda at 641-422-4384 or toll-free at 1-888-GO NIACC, ext. 4384.
