Do you want your students to succeed in their future careers as entrepreneurs and accountants? Then you’ll love what the Intuit Education Program is working on. Intuit is the maker of QuickBooks Online, the #1 rated small business accounting software. Seven years ago, Intuit established the Intuit Education Program designed to empower students to advance their skills in accounting and entrepreneurship. The Intuit Education Program provides complimentary and discounted products to educational institutions.

Since 2014, Intuit has provided substantial support to the NACCE community by offering free QuickBooks Online to educators. Previously, members had to get QuickBooks Online through the NACCE portal, but you can now sign up directly through the new Intuit Education Program website.

The program has been focusing on getting QuickBooks in classrooms and has built a resource center where teachers can easily access everything they need to get QuickBooks in their classroom. Teachers can sign up for free QuickBooks accounting products, download PowerPoint decks for their classroom curriculum, view textbook recommendations, and get informed on how their students can get QuickBooks certified.

Nico Valencia, the Intuit Education Program manager, said, “Providing teachers and students access to the right technology to learn entrepreneurship and accounting skills is our program’s priority. It is rewarding to know that QuickBooks students have the potential to be competitive in the job market and successful at their jobs due to learning QuickBooks Online in their classes at school.”

Because the free version of QuickBooks Online was received well in the education community, Intuit decided to expand their free product line to include QuickBooks Desktop! Like QuickBooks Online, students can learn the fundamentals of accounting with QuickBooks Desktop. Your students can get their own free version as well.

Marie Campbell, a Clinical Senior Instructor for Business Technology Program at Idaho State University and says, “Implementing QuickBooks in the curriculum helps bridge the gap between classroom lessons and real world jobs by offering hands-on experience in the accounting software. I’m happy the NACCE/TechSoup/Intuit partnership is able to offer members complimentary QuickBooks which helped contribute to my students’ academic growth.”

Intuit Education Program is a strong advocate for education and the promotion of entrepreneurial skills. NACCE looks forward to continuing our partnership with the Intuit Education Program.
