Today is the deadline to submit your proposal to be a breakout presenter at NACCE2016: Innovate Now! We interviewed NACCE member, Mindy Kole, Assistant Professor of Business and the Director of the Darlene L. Pfeiffer Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at SUNY Ulster, to see why she chooses to submit a presentation.

Q: Mindy, why do you choose to submit a presentation for NACCE annual conferences?

A: "Attending the NACCE conference is a highlight of my academic year. I get a chance to catch up with my NACCE buddies and hear about the amazing work being done by colleagues all over the country. I also get terrific input, ideas and contacts for our projects here at SUNY Ulster. Presenting at the conference gives me a chance to share some of the things we have accomplished and learned, but it also is an opportunity to get feedback, ideas and input from the attendees at my workshop. So I view it as a win-win for everyone."

Q: "What has your experience presenting at NACCE conferences been like in the past?"

A: "My experience has been wonderful. My sessions have been well attended.  The technology support is terrific and I have enjoyed making the presentation and generating discussion among the group. The workshop flies by!"

Q: What do you think the benefits of presenting are for yourself and your college?

A: "Making presentations improves over time. So for me, personally, my presenting skills improve with each opportunity. SUNY Ulster is a small, rural community college in the State University of NY system. Yet, with the support of my campus and the local community, we have grown our Center and Entrepreneurship program, enabling us to build programs like Community Creations, our student-run business and Own It! Entrepreneurial Women's Conference at SUNY Ulster. Our membership in NACCE, attending and presenting at the conference helps us enormously with our efforts."

Q: Any tips for first time presenters?

A: "Like Nike says, "just do it" - each year I look forward to all the amazing presentations offered at the conference and I know other NACCE members do as well. NACCE provides a structured proposal process to think through your presentation so applying is not difficult. Each college approaches Entrepreneurship differently and surely has some amazing results and accomplishments to share with the NACCE community."

Thank you, Mindy, for sharing your insight with the NACCE network! Submit your proposal today before time runs out!
