Entrepreneurial Mindset Facilitator Training


Date & Time: Friday, October 5 – Sunday, October 7; 8 AM - 4 PM

Location: 33605 Tarrant County College 300 Trinity River Circle Fort Worth, TX 76102

Audience: Open to all sectors including public, private, and non-profit

Description: The Entrepreneurial Mindset Facilitator Certification prepares participants to implement Ice House Entrepreneurship Programs.  These programs are experiential, problem-based learning programs designed to inspire and engage participants in the fundamental aspects of an entrepreneurial mindset. This interactive training will engage participants in the Ice House Philosophy, Ice House Opportunity Discovery Process, and the key constructs behind the eight life lessons of the Ice House Entrepreneurship Programs. Upon successful completion of the certification training, participants will receive an Entrepreneurial Mindset Facilitator Certificate qualifying them to facilitate any of the Ice House Entrepreneurship Programs.This event is organized by the Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative and hosted by Tarrant County College.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the Ice House philosophy and methodology
  • Develop your entrepreneurial mindset with the Ice House Lessons
  • Cultivate your entrepreneurial skills with the Ice House Opportunity Discovery Process
  • Connect the classroom to community by interacting with local entrepreneurs
  • Distinguish between program options, delivery, and outcomes
  • Understand program impact from best practices and use cases
  • Practice facilitating the Ice House Program with onsite coaching
  • Create an implementation plan to implement Ice House

Determining Learning Investment Value:  Entrepreneurs & Community College Partnerships

Description: This workshop will discuss how Community Colleges can support entrepreneurs and enterprises in measuring their learning interventions’ return on investment.  From discussing partnerships to measurement strategies, we will discuss how Bellevue University’s Human Capital Lab supports organizations in understanding and appreciating the value learning investments contribute to a business.  Participants will actively participate in the foundational planning steps for defining Key Performance Indicators, learn how to involve stakeholders in learning outcome measurement, and be provided with common mistakes or assumptions made in human capital initiatives. Participants will be provided with lessons learned from our partnerships and how these partnerships can support institutional missions to develop the workforce.

Upon leaving the session, participants will be able to:

  • Participants will learn how to involve stakeholders in learning outcome measurement with partner enterprises.
  • Participants will learn how partnerships with entrepreneurs can support institutional missions to develop the workforce.
  • Participants will develop a foundational understanding in how measure enterprise investments in people.

Financial Literacy and the Next Gen Entrepreneur

Description: Most all have seen the statistics . . . yet one statistic alone drives home the need for Financial Literacy for college students aspiring to become Entrepreneurs:  “82% of businesses fail due to cash flow mismanagement” (according to a study by Jessie Hagan at US Bank).  But, it goes much deeper than that.  Students across the nation are graduating high school knowing the Pythagorean Theorem (and how to pass a standardized exam), yet have little idea how to create and balance their own personal financial budget.  These students are in your classrooms today, developing into tomorrow’s business owners. We must create the ecosystem that gives them a fighting chance for entrepreneurial success!  Together, we must develop a stronger network that generates Financial Literacy for young people, preparing the Next Generation for business leadership and personal financial accountability.

This session will help you identify the resources and partners to get the Next Gen Entrepreneur better Financial Literacy-prepared by:

  • Clarifying the importance of sound Financial Literacy for college student Entrepreneurs.

  • Identifying all the Financial Literacy/Education knowledge, skills, roles and influences that must be better developed in the Next Gen financial ecosystem.

  • Developing an asset map of Financial Literacy resources and partners (the ‘what’ and the ‘who’) to deepen financial capability for the next generation of entrepreneurs.

  • Preparing educators to play their role in nurturing the Financial Literacy ecosystems burgeoning (or dormant) in their communities.
