April 2, 2013, 10:00AM-3:00PM
Rancho Santiago Community College District Offices

2323 N Broadway, Santa Ana, California

Having an entrepreneurial mindset when running a college is key to getting the results needed to success. Based on learnings from its Presidents for Entrepreneurship Pledge, this NACCE summit will reframe the approach to entrepreneurship within community colleges. Using an asset-based approach, this one-day summit will stimulate discussion about the role of entrepreneurship in workforce development and the potential for community colleges, government agencies, community partners, entrepreneurs, and other organizations to partner, spur innovation and job creation in California, and leap-frog perceived barriers of decreased funding and limited resources.

Community college trustees and presidents will gain valuable information about the potential for entrepreneurship programs to build community partnerships, develop new revenue streams, and attract national funders.

Community college faculty and staff will take away practical skills for building entrepreneurship programs at low- or no cost, infusing entrepreneurship across the curriculum, and forging community partnerships.

Workforce development directors will gain valuable insight into the framework of entrepreneurship education, linkages between entrepreneurship and CTE programs, and how they can partner with community college faculty to stimulate job creation through entrepreneurship.

Public information & government relations directors will take away a better understanding of how to communicate the impact of entrepreneurship education on job creation and economic vitality in the communities served by community colleges.
