Looking at real-world case studies from Cleveland County, North Carolina, this session will discuss the proven model of the "Certified Entrepreneurial Communities" Program and how the leadership of Cleveland County is harnessing the power of building an entrepreneur-friendly community. Having just recently obtained the CEC designation, Cleveland County is a current example of how addressing infrastructure gaps, fostering cultures of innovation, and building bridges between resource providers can effectively catalyze an entrepreneurial ecosystem. The webinar will hear from the CEC Team Leader of Cleveland County, Steve Padgett, as well as the Community Consultant and CEC Partner, Emily Breedlove, on how other communities can learn from the successes in North Carolina.


Learning Objectives

  • Learn about the Certified Entrepreneurial Communities Program, a proven economic development strategic planning model
  • Hear first-hand accounts around the most effective methods for launching a county-wide initiative like CEC3)
