February Speakers Series Features Panel of Experts - WOWza!

Posted By Beth Pridday, Thursday, February 25, 2010
Our February 12th Speaker Series was entitled:  Hook Me Up:  networking, Freebies and More! and featured three experts in PR, marketing, print, graphic design and marketing and WOWza....what a great turnout (more than 80 attendees) and many first-timers who were MORE than willing to pay our small fee ($10) for the valuable information they received from these folks!  I used "hook ups" and personal friends in the business to fill my panel and was not disappointed about their willingess to share their knowledge and expertise, as well as their time afterwards to personally answer questions one-on-one and meet with folks.
The event also featured a large packet of "free" marketing tools that we assembled and gave as part of their attendance fee to the event.  In addition, our sponsor, the Detroit Lakes Young Professionals group, gave us the monies to also offer free refreshments, which are also a big hit on an early Friday morning.
One of the greatest outcomes was that our panelists stuck around for almost TWO hours to discuss marketing, PR and other topics with our attendees and didn't seem to mind a bit and in fact THANKED ME for having them and two panelist posted public comment on their experiences in Detroit Lakes, at BES and MState on their Facebook pages, which was seen and heard by many and received many positive feedbacks and comments!
Additionally, many of our attendees begin to practice some of their "tips" and tools they got at the event by immediately getting on Facebook, sending our e-marketing and press releases.  It was an amazing reaction to watch and be a part of!
Lastly, I also received many nice email following the event from first time attendees saying how impressed they were with our services and events we offer at BES!
THANKS Coleman Foundation for helping us put some WOWza into our Speaker Series and for allowing us to help energize entrepereurs in our region!

"Thank you Beth.
I was out yesterday, but did attend the meeting this morning. Great
information!  I had made a comment to Ashley Wilde, the gal that came with me this
morning, about how GREAT of a speaker you are. You're so very comfortable and captivating.  Looking forward to your next event."
