Posted By Bunker Hill Community College _, Thursday, February 25, 2010

The Community Center for Entrepreneurship, Bunker Hill Community College

Coleman Grant Report, February 2010

· The Center is co-sponsoring with the State Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship an event featuring entrepreneur Darryl Settles. March 4. NFTE teachers and BHCC students, faculty and staff will be attending.

· We are collaborating on another Young Entrepreneurs Alliance event: this time the event will take place at Madison Park High School, and our students, faculty and staff will be attending. The event is a team-building event for the new graphic design business that is being established at the school. BHCC students will play an integral part in the ‘bonding’exercises.

· Degree option in Craft Entrepreneurship is ready to go: it was designed specifically for graduates from the North Bennet Street School. We will be holding our first information session at the School in April.

· We have hired BHCC students to develop the Center’s Facebook and database. We are now building a LinkedIn page.

· Publicity for our summer entrepreneurship program for high school students has gone out to all the Boston public schools and to schools in the Greater Boston area. On March 5th we have a meeting for area high school counselors at which we will also distribute the information.

· The Coordinator of our Center, Erin DeCurtis, has created a ‘Business Concept Development Workbook’ which we’re distributing to all our clients and high school partners.
